Reaching the finals of the prestigious Scottish Property Awards

26 Feb 2021

We’re delighted to have been named as a finalist in three categories in the prestigious annual Scottish Property Awards. We’ve been shortlisted in the Business Resilience category and the Inverurie Community Campus development, on which we were design team leader, has reached the finals in Architectural Excellence Award (Public Use) section. The Inverurie Community Campus, developed with hub North Scotland, Aberdeenshire Council and Robertson, has also been shortlisted in the Development of the Year (Public Buildings) category.

It’s an honour to be recognised in this national competition celebrating excellence in Scottish real estate, particularly as it attracted entries from over 50 businesses.

With last year being dominated by Covid-19, we demonstrated our resilience by responding quickly and effectively to the pandemic. We ensured we could continue to offer our usual high level of service to clients. We introduced a number of initiatives, such as: reshaping the work experience we offer the next generation of architects and planners for an online world, including a Virtual Learning Zone and Studio; launching a virtual Design a House competition for school pupils and sponsoring the first virtual Build Your Future Schools Challenge. We also provided mental health support to our colleagues and set the 150 Challenge in support of charity SAMH. And we supported Cash for Kids by donating the money saved by having our Christmas Party online

Throughout the pandemic, we’re pleased that we have continued to perform strongly, maintaining service on over £500 million worth of construction projects nationally, while winning £100m worth of new work.

Turning to the Architectural Excellence Award (Public Use) category, we were privileged to be the design team leader for the stunning new £55 million Inverurie Community Campus in the heart of the Aberdeenshire town. The new development replaced two existing community buildings and incorporated two existing schools under one roof to provide a new civic centre for the town and the surrounding area.

We’re now looking forward to the finals of the awards in March.
